There is a farm at the end of the harbour area that is exceptionally pretty. More pictures of it will follow.
One of the tunnels in the system.
We stayed at the Comfy Guesthouse in Sudureryi. Sudureyri stayed light almost 24 hours. We had a tough time sleeping so we were often awake, and even at 3am it was light enough that you could read without a light. This picture of John was taken about 9pm.
The dreaded tunnel leading to Sudureyri.
There is a cafe & restaurant in Sudureyri called The Fisherman. We ate there a couple of times. The first night I had a veggie meal, and John a cod dish. Let me tell you, cod in Iceland is NOT like cod at home. I don't know if I'll be able to eat cod here again after having it straight from the ocean.
Naturally there is a church in Sudureryi. This one is unusual in that it is green, not red.
The harbour. Fishing is central to life to Sudureryi.
Cool house.
All of these boats are called "Bobby". Bobby 1 through 12, I think.
The "Titanic" girl!
The community centre. On Saturday night there was a wedding at the church, and the reception was held here. The trail race was on Sunday so we wanted to get to bed early. About 10pm the dancing started. Sudureryi is so small that it was like they were playing the music in our guesthouse! I think the entire town was there celebrating. It was a lot of fun to listen to. At one point we figured we'd be welcomed if we went down to join the fun. The party continued until 3am but it was hard to be upset about it - it was just like in a movie. And we weren't sleeping much anyway.
