The first part of the trip was rainy and exceptionally foggy. As we climbed mountains John would lose all visibility. As we descended things would clear off again. Eventually it became less foggy, though it remained somewhat rainy most of the day. It didn't bother us as we were in the car most of the day. It was about a 5 hour drive.
We called these drivers "lazy laners". Drivers in Iceland are terrible for not paying attention to lanes. Oftentimes cars would cross right over to the other side of the road. We found it quite frustrating, and on occasion, more than a bit dangerous and alarming!
We weren't sure exactly where the GPS was taking us.
A lovely church in Selfoss
Instead of hearts, Selfoss has grimaces for red lights...
...and happy faces for green lights!
We skirted Reykjavik on the way to Selfoss and passed more of the road decorations.
