Krysuvikurbjarg (Bird Cliffs)

From the Blue Lagoon we went to the cliffs to see the birds nesting on the cliff face at Krysuvikurberg. Although it was late (at least 9pm), because it stays light so late it didn't matter. The low light did affect my photos negatively though.

We drove through a town called Grindavik, which I loved. Really pretty, a different from other towns for some reason.

This is where we were headed. We had to take a picture but they are such typically Icelandic names.

This building glowed

The harbour

Such a pretty town

We then drove down another bumpy gravel road to get to the Krysuvik cliffs. It was well worth the drive. The view was spectacular, and it was so peaceful, even with the birds calling constantly.

These people had cycled in on recumbents, and with a child! Impressive.

Mucky road

I love this picture of John.

More on cairns later

The cliffs are huge.

Pensive, but happy & relaxed

Sea birds

Lots of poo

More unphotogenic ussies. Well, John looks good.

Setting up camp. For the record, it was way too cold for shorts & flipflops!

On the way back to Selfoss

The sky was gorgeous
